Towards a SAFER e-commerce platform
Unlike a “real” store buying from an online merchant can be a risky and unfortunately for some a very negative experience. Not being able to “touch and feel” your product before purchasing requires significant more trust when buying online. “Will what I paid for actually be delivered on time to me?”, “Can I trust this merchant?” are some of the worries that pass a buyer’s mind before clicking the “BUY” button. In a time of rising fraud rates it is difficult for, especially small-to-medium merchants having low brand recognition to increase its customer base and revenues. Overcoming this barrier requires raising buyer confidence, increasing fraud awareness and most importantly building merchant trust.
TradeSafe’s mission is working with strategic partners to provide an effective trust & safety solution that will address the 3 factors of EC growth in Japan.

| Being able to distinguish between honest and fraudulent merchants is a key factor in creating buyer confident market. | One-click frauds, phishing, auction fraud are just one of the few types of e-commerce related problems currently affecting the Japanese EC market. It is critical that private and public sectors work together in effectively convey to and informing consumers about online fraud and how to prevent themselves from being victimized. | For small-to-medium sized merchants spending costs on product marketing can result in less than expected returns. Competing for price is important however, competing for merchant reputation is of equal importance when selling online especially as a small seller. In order for these merchants to increase sales and ROI it is imperative that they not only execute trustworthy and quality customer service but there needs to exist a tool which evaluates, verifies and conveys to buyers they are safe sellers. |
